Coasteering
Coasteering is a highly popular activity. It involves exploring the rocky coastline while scrambling, climbing, swimming and jumping. We have venues that will challenge beginners and primary pupils up to college students and adults. The session can be a half or full day in length. Coasteering in North Wales is often combined with other coastal activities for a full and varied day out.
A great team activity. The pupils can't get enough of swimming and jumping into the sea.
swimming in the sea
Coasteering involves getting wet in the beautiful waters around the Welsh coastline. We issue everyone with a full wetsuit to keep you warm, plus buoyancy aids so it doesn’t matter if there are non-swimmers.
Groups love to float in the waves, be moved around by little flows or even be twirled in whirlpools as the water moves around the rocks.
Routes can be chosen to either minimise or maximise swimming time, depending on the group’s preference.
Cliff Jumps
There are jumps of all heights to enjoy whilst Coasteering in North Wales . From a simple step into the water for younger ages, to full jumps where you have time to think before you hit the water, for adults and older age groups.
We build up your confidence, giving advice and coaching into the safest style of jump and the decision making, that goes into selecting a good jump spot. No jumps are compulsory so individuals can choose their own height. It makes it all the more exciting when you are stepping off a real cliff into the open sea below!
Rock Scrambling
There are plenty of opportunities to safely climb and scramble over the rocks as we move from one section to the next. Climbing challenges are sought above deep water, to test your skills. Caves can be explored and stacks found.
Coasteering works well as a half day activity combined with Sea Level Traversing, which is run at the same sea cliff venues as a dry roped activity. This gives a great and varied full day of activity.
Learning Outcomes
For Outdoor Education Courses
- Understanding of the coastal environment and associated hazards.
- Helping and awareness of the needs of others.

- Confidence, as we select achievable goals for all.
- Erosional processes active on the sea cliffs.
Activity Venues
Our coasteering venues are generally found on the west coast of the island of Anglesey. If the seas are big we do have sheltered options on the north coast.
We feel very fortunate to have access to this stunning coastal environment and our in depth knowledge of the area enables us to select the right venue with the type of group, weather and sea conditions in mind.
